Current Series: Ruth and Redeeming Love!
Ruth is an idyllic love story between two good people, a foreigner, Ruth, and a Jewish farmer, Boaz. It’s a story of a small-town farmer falling in love with a girl from ‘the wrong side of the tracks.’ But when we read the story closely, we'll find the author has woven in stories from Israel’s patriarchs and matriarchs. It's a story within The Story. Even some of the nation’s oldest mistakes are redeemed through the virtuous actions of Boaz and Ruth. The decisions of these out-of-the-way lovers will have a ripple effect on their nation, and eventually the world.
Over the next couple of months, we’ll examine how God’s covenantal faithfulness guides us in all our 'happenstances' in our small town. And we’ll see how God’s loving-kindness for Ruth and Boaz is weaved into our story of redemption through their descendent, the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
