Current Series: Will Justice Be Done?
We all find ourselves striving for the “good life”: safety, security, and influence. But in our striving for personal satisfaction and comfort, we struggle to see the plight of our neighbors. That’s why the prophecies of the book of Micah help us confront our often-unseen contributions to injustice by helping us see how we use our religion, money, and influence to prop up our own desires for safety and security at the expense of others.
Micah also gives us a vision of a more just future for the “least of these.” We are called not only to identify with the poor and weak, but to take up their cause, for theirs is the kingdom of God.
Most importantly, Micah helps us know how to live now, so that we can act justly and love mercy and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). We invite you to join us over the next few months as we commit to unmasking injustice in our lives and in our society, so that we can pursue God’s justice for all people here and now, and forevermore.
